WHAT KIND OF TOMATOES FOR MARINARA?
When you have one ingredient as the star of the dish, it’s really important to use the best quality you can. For this marinara where the tomato flavor is the star I recommend San Marzano Style whole peeled tomatoes.
What you will need to prepare this amazing sauce
Immersion Blender, traditional blender, Cuisinart style blender or Vita mix style blender
A 4 qt. pot to cook the sauce
Ingredients
1 28 oz can San Marzano Style whole peeled tomatoes or similar style
1 t garlic powder
1 T sugar or Stevia
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
Use an immersion blender or place into a traditional blender jar and blend into a chunky sauce.
Add the tomatoes to a large pot. Add the garlic powder, sugar or Stevia, olive oil and salt to the tomatoes. Stir well to combine.
Bring the marinara to a boil and then reduce to simmer for 20 minutes.
