How to Roast Garlic…It’s Easy

Slice 1/4 inch off the top.

The finished roasted garlic will be soft and golden.

My favorite thing about slow roasting whole garlic is that it's impossible to mess up. Caramelized, sweet flavor and aroma are amazing and worth the wait. When you wrap the garlic head in foil, you're essentially slow-roasting it and creating a nice roasting environment.

When it's ready, squeeze out the bulp from each clove.

  1. First, Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Prep garlic head, Slice (de top) the top of the whole garlic bulb

  3. then place on a sheet of foil. Drizzle olive oil over the exposed cloves, then bring up the edges of the foil and crimp to seal.

  4. Roast for 45 to 50 minutes. The garlic is ready when the cloves start to separate from the skins and they appear soft, creamy, and slightly golden-brown.

  5. Unwrap & allow garlic to cool slightly before handling.

  6. Squeeze garlic from bulbs. Cloves may stay intact or you can mash with a fork.
